Every application submitted will be reviewed. Please read below for details on the application process and timing for our
2025 Stagecraft and Technology cohort! This program will train students in Fundraising, Communications, and Company Management, and culminates with 6 weeks of paid employment and residence with New York Stage & Film for their summer season at Marist University.

The Administration program is designed as a hybrid program with classes happening both virtually and in-person at The Chance in Poughkeepsie, NY. A typical training week includes two days of virtual learning and one day of in-person learning. There will also be occasional off-site field trips. The training program ends with a paid employment opportunity with New York Stage & Film that includes 6 weeks of residency at Marist University. This may be a piece written for school, work, or a personal project. We especially welcome nonfiction or technical writing, such as analytical essays, research papers, grant proposals, marketing materials, strategic plans, or policy memos. The sample should reflect your ability to organize ideas, articulate arguments, and engage an intended audience through writing.

There is no strict length requirement, but we recommend at least 300-500 words. If submitting an excerpt from a longer work, please share a brief note describing the context of the piece.

Our goal with the writing sample is to learn more about how how you think, structure information, and communicate in writing within a professional context.
